Cabinet approves changes to Triple Talaq Bill, PMGSY.

Besides approving 3 amendments to the anti-instant triple talaq bill, the Union Cabinet and the CCEA took several other key decisions as well.

They include continuation of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana beyond the 12th Five Year Plan period with certain changes, release of pulses to States a discount of Rs. 15 per kg for various Welfare Schemes among other decisions. Here's a round-up of the other decisions.

The Union Cabinet took several important decisions on Thursday.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given its approval for continuation of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana beyond 12th Five Year Plan period.

It will help in connecting 38,412 habitations at an estimated cost of Rs. 84,934 crore with enhanced fund allocation and changed funding pattern i.e. in the ratio of 60:40 between the Centre and State for all States.

The Task is to connect 1,78,184 habitations under PMGSY on its by March, 2019.

Another important decision has been taken by Cabinet. Keeping in view the nutrition of the poor under which for pulses discount of Rs.15 per Kg over the prevailing wholesale market price.

Government will spend Rs. 5,237 crore for implementation of this Scheme.

The Cabinet has given its approval for continuation and revision of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of "Post Matric Scholarship for Other Backward Classes Students for studying in India.

The revision in the PMS-OBC scheme to ensure effective implementation and better monitoring of the schemes includes.

Annual parental income will be increased from Rs. One Lakh to Rs. 1.5 lakh.

The Cabinet Committee approved the project for construction of 6.930 km long 4-lane bridge at Phulaut in Bihar.

The Union Cabinet has given the approval for raising of four additional battalions of National Disaster Response Force to strengthen the India's disaster response set up at an estimated cost of Rs 637 crore.

The Cabinet has also approved the proposal to provide the Concession Agreements & Land Lease Agreements for the revival of Gorakhpur & Sindri units of Fertilizer Corporation of India Limited.

To cater to the health needs of the people of the region, the Union Cabinet has approved to transfer the Central Hospital at Karma, Jharkhand under the Ministry of Labour & Employment along with its land and building to the Jharkhand Government free of cost to establish a new Medical College under the Centrally Sponsored.

The Union Cabinet condoled the demise of M. Karunanidhi, former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and observed two-minute silence in his memory and passed a condolence resolution.
